About Me!
BarckholtzArt is my vision of how I can use my art to impact.
Being able to inspire minds with art was what I was put on this planet to do. I didn't realize this right away, but God has always been working to push me in this direction.
I have always loved art. My mom loves telling people the story about how she started drawing with me when I was 18 months old. For that I am beyond grateful, because it gave me the foundation that I believe set me aside from other kids who did art in school.
I started assisting my peers in art class in high school at the age of 15. Soon after, I started private lessons with kids aged 8-12. In college, I didn't do very much art, trying to focus my skills into marketing/communications. I was told I probably couldn't use my art, so I didn't pour myself into it like I did in High School. However, after obtaining my Bachelor's in Communication and Minor in Art at Texas A&M University, I found myself thrown into a position as an artist's assistant to the incredibly taleneted Salli Babbitt. She led to me meeting my supervisor/director, Blakely Bering, at Art in Motion Publishing. As a result I started making artwork to sell in stores, and now I have work sold all over the country and the world through stores like Marshalls Homegoods, ROSS, BEALLS, and AtHome to name a few.
It's funny how the universe works.
That wasn't where the art ended though. I started teaching at a local "Painting with a Twist". I was constantly asked if I was a high school teacher, because of my patience and kindness. Soon after when I was offered a job at a high school- I never looked back.
Seeing my students succeed and being able to inspire them with my own artwork has been the most incredible experience. When you have a child come to you and say "I never thought I could do this, but you proved I can." you just know you're where you belong. I'm excited to see where the rest of my journey takes me, and I'm so excited to share a piece of it here!
